Help & FAQ

The questions people actually ask. If yours is not here, write to us — a person reads it.

Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. You can browse as a guest: pick a masjid and you will see its prayer times, events and campaigns. An account is what lets you RSVP, give, hold tickets, join a masjid and pair a display.

How do I find my masjid?

Search by name or city, or tap Near me to sort by distance. You can change your home masjid whenever you like from Profile → Edit profile → Home masjid, and you can belong to more than one under My Masajid.

My masjid is not on Royyaa.

Tell us on royyaa.com and we will reach out to them. If you help run the masjid, request access at royyaa.com/admin/request-access.

Prayer times

Where do the times come from?

From your masjid. Each one sets its own calculation method and its own iqamah times, so what you see matches the masjid you follow rather than a generic calculation.

The times look wrong.

Check that your home masjid is the one you meant, then tell your masjid's office — they control the settings and can correct them for everyone at once.

Events and tickets

How do I RSVP?

Open the event and tap RSVP. Free events confirm straight away unless the masjid keeps a waitlist. Paid events ask for payment first — your ticket lives under the event, and on iPhone you can add it to Apple Wallet.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. Add them under Family & Friends, then include them when you RSVP or buy tickets.

How do I cancel a ticket?

Open the ticket and cancel. Paid tickets can be refunded in the app up to 48 hours before the event starts; after that the masjid has already committed to catering and space, so contact them directly.

I cannot afford a ticket.

Where a masjid has enabled it, the event page has a financial aid option. The request goes to the masjid, which decides privately.

Giving

Where does my money go?

To the masjid and campaign you chose. Royyaa carries it; it is not the recipient.

Is my card safe?

Payments run through Stripe. Card numbers go from your phone to Stripe directly and are never stored by Royyaa. Saved cards are held by Stripe and managed under Profile → Payment methods.

Can I give anonymously?

Yes — turn on Anonymous before confirming. Your name will not appear in public supporter lists. Your masjid still sees the gift in its own records, which it needs for accounting and receipts.

How do I stop a monthly gift?

Profile → Giving history & receipts, find it under ONGOING GIVING, and tap Manage or cancel. That opens Stripe's billing page, where you can also update an expiring card — the most common reason a recurring gift fails.

Where are my receipts?

Under Profile → Giving history & receipts. Year-end statements come from your masjid.

I gave the wrong amount, or twice.

Contact your masjid, or write to us and we will help sort it out.

Memberships

What is a membership?

Some masajid run membership tiers with dues. The masjid sets the price and what it includes; Royyaa collects the dues and keeps the record.

How do I change or cancel mine?

Speak to your masjid — it is their programme, and they can change or end it for you.

Prayer displays

What is it?

A small e-paper display that shows your masjid's prayer times on a shelf or wall, and updates itself.

How do I set one up?

Power it on and open Profile → My devices → Add a display. The app finds it over Bluetooth and walks through naming it, choosing the masjid and joining Wi-Fi.

It stopped updating.

  • Check it still has power and its battery is not flat.
  • Check the Wi-Fi network it joined still exists and its password has not changed.
  • Open My devices and look at “last synced”.
  • If it shows the Bluetooth setup screen, it has been unpaired — set it up again.
Deleting your Royyaa account unpairs any display attached to it. The display keeps showing the last times it received until someone sets it up again.

Notifications

What will I be sent?

Announcements from your masjid, and reminders for events you are attending. Nothing else, and never advertising.

How do I change them?

Profile → Notification settingsto turn categories on and off per masjid, or your phone's Settings app to silence Royyaa entirely.

Your account

I forgot my password.

Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. We email a code; entering it lets you set a new password.

Can I change my email address?

Not from inside the app yet. Write to us and we will change it for you.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. It happens immediately: your profile, memberships, RSVPs, family members and any paired display are removed, and recurring giving is cancelled first. Past gifts stay on your masjid's books without your name attached. It cannot be undone — see the Privacy Policy for the full list.

I am a masjid admin — why can I not use my login in the app?

Admin accounts live in the web portal, and member accounts live in the app; they are separate. If you want to take part as a congregant too, create a member account in the app with your own email.

For masajid

How do we get our masjid on Royyaa?

Request access at royyaa.com/admin/request-access. Pick your masjid from the directory or propose it, and we will verify and set you up.

Who can we add to our team?

Owners can invite admins and scoped managers — events, donations, prayer times, members — so volunteers only get the access they need.

Still stuck?

Write to hello@royyaa.com with your masjid's name and what happened. For anything about a specific event, campaign or membership, your masjid's office will usually be faster — it is their programme.
